Clinique Neuro-Outaouais is a multidisciplinary general neurology clinic in Gatineau Quebec. It is composed of a team of 5 neurologists, 5 nurses, 2 electrophysiology technicians, 2 physiotherapists and 1 assistant physiotherapist. It houses an MS clinic which serves over 900 patients with MS. It is very active in MS clinical research both in multinational trials and investigator initiated trials. It has an active electrophysiological department with EMG, repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation, motor evoked potentials, visual evoked potentials somatosensory evoked potentials and cognitive evoked potentials. It has a unique physiotherapy group specialized in patients with neurological disorders including MS.
The MS fellow would gain extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of patients with all stages of MS.
The fellow would acquire the ability to use EMG and/or ultrasound guided Botulinum toxin injections in the management of MS related spasticity.
The fellow would learn about and be able to perform and interpret electrophysiological tests useful in the diagnosis and follow-up of patients with MS.
The fellow would gain knowledge and experience in doing clinical trials in MS.
The fellow would gain knowledge and experience in the rehabilitative aspects of patients with MS.
